Mount Pleasant resident Virginie Ternisien talks about her year working to restore the habitat of the remote wildlife sanctuary Holaniku, commonly known as Kure Atoll, the northwesternmost atoll in the Hawaiian archipelago. It is located 1,400 miles away from O'ahu in the Pacific Ocean. The talk ties to local efforts to save our closest bird sanctuary Crab Bank, and to reduce the flow of plastic from entering and polluting waterways and the ocean.
